GERB’s 3D seismic isolation system is applied to Emergency Diesel Generators (EDGs) in nuclear power plants in Korea, providing protection during earthquakes and ensuring overall plant safety.

By combining a spring isolation system with VISCODAMPER®, the solution effectively responds to seismic forces in all directions—horizontal (X, Y) and vertical (Z)—delivering high seismic performance and long-term reliability.

Given the operational constraints of nuclear facilities, where maintenance access is limited, the system is designed to maintain its performance over time without the need for periodic maintenance.

It has been successfully implemented at Shin Kori Units 3 and 4, and is also planned for application at Shin Hanul Units 3 and 4, which are currently under construction.
