Conventional thermal insulation coatings are functional coatings that prevent heat loss by forming microscopic pores within the coating film. This is achieved by mixing fillers such as hollow silica with an acrylic copolymer resin, thereby creating fine pores inside the coating layer when applied to the substrate. Such coatings are generally used below the temperature range at which acrylic resins remain thermally stable.
The high-temperature thermal insulation coating developed by Korea Firetech Co., Ltd. is based on an organic–inorganic hybrid resin combined with a pure ceramic binder. It is specifically designed for high-temperature environments where the substrate surface temperature is elevated. This coating delivers excellent heat resistance and thermal insulation performance even under extreme temperature conditions.
