OmniDoor's anti-trapping multifunctional door set was developed to solve six problems with indoor doors.

First, the interior door is determined at the time of ordering as a left-push door, left-pull door, right-push door, or right-pull door. The problem that arises here is

1. If the reference positions are different when ordering, an average of 10% ordering error occurs. Disputes arising from this are common problems seen in the field.

2. The opening direction of an interior door is determined by the door frame. Even if the furniture arrangement is changed during or after installation, or interior work is redone, the opening direction cannot be changed unless the door frame of the interior door is also changed.

Resolving this irrationality was the first problem to be solved.

Second, we needed to develop doors that disabled people could conveniently use. If a family member has a disability, or if there is a disabled person in a new home who uses a wheelchair, there is a welfare system that allows you to apply to the local government to have the door replaced with a door that the disabled person can conveniently use. This is a project funded by the government budget. For this reason, the second development background is that even disabled people should be able to use it conveniently with simple operation without any additional construction.

Thirdly, why is it unreasonable to install the door frame first in the frame state and then install the door after finishing the interior?

It has been established as a problem that must be determined and resolved. The reason for installing the door frame first after the frame construction was that the door frame would serve as a baseline for material separation. The problem that arises here is that once the door frame is installed and the rest of the process continues, the door frame may be damaged or deformed. To prevent this, complete reinforcement and accurate curing are prerequisites. Additionally, two visits would double the labor cost.

Fourth, since the wall thickness ranges from 100mm to 250mm, 25 door frames in 10mm units must be prepared to construct one door. If you visit an actual door factory, you will see that 2/3 of the space is used for door frames. To solve this problem, the development of doors that reduce production costs and are environmentally friendly was required.

Fifth, the minimalist doors required by modern design are expensive. The challenge was to make it possible to produce a door with this modern design at the price of a typical ABS or wooden door, and Omni Door solved this challenge.

Lastly, there is a need for safety doors and modular development. Currently, the KSF3109:2021 safety door requires separate construction as the hand pinch prevention device and door are separated. By solving this problem, construction costs could be reduced and a completed design could be obtained. Additionally, the indoor door market is said to be worth 1.2 trillion won and the glass door market is worth 800 billion won. However, the interior door and glass door (steel look, tempered glass door) industries themselves are separate. We thought that if we could modularize this and selectively apply the door to the interior door frame, we could do business in the 2 trillion won market with one product and construction method.

For this purpose, we developed a “multi-functional door set to prevent hands from getting caught” and introduced it to the market.
