A geotextile is a synthetic permeable textile material used with soil, rock, or any other geotechnical engineering related material, made from either polypropylene or polyester staple fibers that are needle punched in a random pattern to create a resilient fabric that has a felt-like look and feel. The fibers can be bonded together by adopting thermal, or mechanical techniques or a combination of techniques.
