Carbon Neutral One Team Seoul Launch Ceremony

The Seoul Metropolitan Government held a climate crisis response and carbon campaign together with 25 districts, the Seoul Metropolitan Council, the Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee, and citizens on February 27 (Mon) at 9:50 at the multipurpose hall on the 8th floor of Seoul City Hall. In 2022, the '2050 Seoul Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee' was formed in accordance with the 'Framework Act on Carbon Neutral Green Growth to Response to the Climate Crisis' and the 'Carbon Neutral Support Center' was designated to establish a cooperative system for promoting carbon neutrality. strengthened.

The city formed a consensus with the autonomous district that everyone must join forces to realize Seoul, a carbon-neutral city by 2050, and set this year as the first year of joint implementation of carbon neutrality. This ceremony was prepared to solidify a joint resolution with 25 autonomous districts to respond to the climate crisis and achieve carbon neutrality.

The event proceeded in the order of city and district joint resolution for carbon neutrality, declaration of commitment by autonomous district, keynote speech by Kim Sang-hyup, chairman of the 2050 Carbon Neutral Green Growth Committee, and presentation of best practices in autonomous districts. At this meeting, Seoul City and the autonomous districts jointly resolved five issues to overcome the climate crisis and fulfill their responsibilities to realize carbon neutrality.

This event is eco-friendly, such as recognizing information patterns (QR codes) with mobile phones without printed materials to check presentation materials, using biodegradable banners in the event venue, and reusing previously used eco-friendly promotional signs (campaign signs).
