Samsung Electronics starts the 'Smart Factory 3.0' project, which uses artificial intelligence (AI) and data technology to advance manufacturing sites of SMEs into intelligent factories.
Samsung Electronics selects small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) located in areas at risk of demographic decline as priority targets for support, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy and balanced national development through this, and a separate organization dedicated to enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs in sustainable management (ESG).
Samsung Electronics also starts Smart Factory 3.0, and local governments and smart factory beneficiaries go beyond individual companies.
Samsung Electronics plans to contribute to the expansion of the 'spontaneous local smart factory ecosystem' conducted by each local government. Investing a total of 30 billion won for 3 years, 10 billion won each, will support the construction and advancement of smart factories in 600 small and medium-sized enterprises.

Samsung Electronics has supported the construction of smart factories in a total of 3,000 small and medium-sized enterprises across the country through the smart factory project for eight years until last year.

Samsung Electronics is also concentrating its efforts on strengthening sustainable management (ESG), which is difficult for small and medium-sized businesses to manage on their own, such as creating a safe working environment and reducing carbon emissions through the use of eco-friendly materials and energy saving by forming a dedicated organization.
