Traffic accident analysis using a new analysis technique

Road Traffic Authority Seoul Branch (regional head Kim Yeon-hwa) announced on the 25th that it had developed a 'driver's field of view analysis technique using VR camera' for professional traffic accident image analysis.

This technique uses a VR (Virtual Reality) camera to film the inside of the accident vehicle at 360°, and then creates a 3D model of the accident vehicle and the scene to determine if the driver was able to recognize and avoid the actual danger at the time of the accident. It is an advanced reproduction analysis technique that can determine the driver's visual field.

Existing analysis techniques do not reflect the difference between what is seen in the black box video and the actual driver's field of view, so the blind spot of the driver's field of vision is considered. I had difficulty doing it. However, it is expected that the accuracy of the analysis technique developed this time will be improved and will be of great help in resolving unnecessary disputes between civil petitioners.

Road Traffic Authority Seoul Branch Expectations were revealed that the technique would contribute to the judicial authorities making a more fair and objective judgment on the driver's possibility of avoidance in a traffic accident case.
