A space where visitors can relax more than other Hangang parks In the space of about 3,000㎡ in Ichon Hangang Park, which was lacking, a new lawn was created, and trees were planted to provide shade or to enjoy beautiful flowers, creating a rest area. From 2019 to 2021, 2,060 trees were planted, and this year, 1,410 trees were planted, including hackberry, peduncle, and hydrangea, to add to the abundance. In fact, it is confirmed that the number of citizens resting in the space has increased, mainly on weekends. Supporting them together to plant and care for trees is a great achievement.
In 2022, a total of 4 volunteer activities for forest maintenance were conducted each season, with 71 volunteers planting trees and I took care of it. So far, 805 citizen volunteers have been together. In particular, this year, when the Han River forest was severely damaged by flooding due to heavy rains and typhoons, volunteer activities were conducted to restore damage, clean up mud and garbage caught in shrub complexes, and remove ecosystem-disturbing plants such as ginseng vine and maple leaf ragweed so that they do not spread.
