Won the 3rd ‘Artificial Intelligence Grand Challenge’

NCSoft (CEO Kim Taek-jin, hereinafter referred to as NC) won the 3rd competition of the 'Artificial Intelligence Grand Challenge' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT (hereinafter referred to as the Ministry of Science and ICT).

'Artificial Intelligence Grand Challenge' is the nation's most prestigious artificial intelligence challenge competition hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and supervised by the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology Evaluation and Planning. It is a contest in which participants compete for problem-solving skills based on voluntary preliminary research on the presented problem. From 2022 to 2022, we participated in the 3rd competition held under the theme of 'solving various missions in complex disaster situations using artificial intelligence and robotics'. A total of 175 teams and 935 people participated, and they competed for problem-solving skills in each stage for 4 years.

NC won the prize for 3 consecutive years from 2019 to 2021, In the final round of 2018, it took first place, proving the country's highest level of Vision AI technology. It was recognized for its high problem-solving ability in the 'data collection using drones in disaster situations' presented as a finalist task, and the possibility of application in real environments other than games was also suggested.

NC (NC) plans to utilize the 'person, object, and text' recognition technology accumulated through the 'Artificial Intelligence Grand Challenge' for research and development (R&D) of a 'conversational digital human' capable of natural interaction with people.
