아미노 화합물과 포름알데히드 축합 수지를 아미노 수지라고 말하며 도료로 이용되는 중요한 것으로써 요소 수지와 멜라민 수지가 있다.
아미노 수지는 산성조건하에서 가교반응을 일으켜 경화성 수지로서 각종 도료에 이용되고 있으며, 특히 아크릴 수지, 알키드 수지, 폴리에스터 수지, 에폭시 수지 등과 함께 사용하여 도막으로써 요구되는 많은 성능을 만족하는 지극히 뛰어난 도막을 형성하는 역할을 한다.
