Please introduce your company

Plainbit is a company established in July 2013 with the purpose of creating a digital forensics service market in the private market. I had a dream of working in information security since high school, and after discovering the charm of digital forensics, I entered graduate school with a major in that field. After graduating, I worked at AhnLab for over a year to analyze breaches and started my own business with the intention of creating a digital forensics service market..< /p>

In the beginning, we simply provided freelance work in a more systematic way, without a goal for the size of the company.I wanted to create a digital forensics service market that did not exist in Korea. However, the market gradually expanded due to internal and external factors and has now grown into a company with about 40 employees. span>

In digital forensics, objectivity in judgment is very important because it can result in a person's physical arrest or financial damage depending on how the meaning of digital data is interpreted. For this reason, the company's mission was set as to help solve social problems through the correct interpretation of digital data by emphasizing the importance of correct interpretation. The mission of PlainBit is also a combination of Plain and Bit, which means to interpret digital data correctly.

Please tell us about your main business

Main services include evidence analysis and accident analysis. First, evidence analysis is a service that analyzes digital evidence upon request from a law firm, company, or individual , investigative agency. It is often requested for the purpose of preparing for a lawsuit, investigating corporate fraud, or auditing a company. Accident analysis is a service that investigates cyber infringement incidents. Currently, we are responding to more than 1,000 infringement incidents every year in cooperation with the Korea Internet & Security Agency, which is in charge of investigating private infringement incidents..

In addition, we are reselling several major forensic products in Korea. We introduce and sell only certain forensic products that we believe are valuable to domestic investigative agencies or private companies. In addition, we are also developing a security incident response and investigation platform based on our experience in responding to security breaches.

We are also conducting training through the brand ‘PLAINBIT+’ in order to share the service know-how we have experienced. Mainly training is on infringement incident investigation techniques, information leak incident investigation techniques, and cryptocurrency investigation techniques. In addition to our own training, we also provide commissioned training requested by investigative agencies..

What are your future goals

Our vision is to become ‘Top Tier’ in the Asian forensics market. In the domestic forensic market, it is one of the largest companies in terms of service scope and manpower. Now we are preparing to expand this service to the Asian market. We plan to further systemize and platform our services, enter the Asian market within 5 years, and ultimately become a leading digital forensics company based on our services.

In addition, companies that provide legal services often have forensic teams in place because they require technical support. In contrast, we want to grow into a company that provides total services related to digital forensics by hiring professional lawyers in-house.
