Technology, which seemed like uncharted territory, has begun to be used in various fields in real life and has deeply penetrated people's lives, sparking the ChatGPT craze. True to its title as an IT powerhouse, domestic AI technology is growing fast enough to compete in the global market.

Korea Artificial Intelligence Verification Agency is also a company that deals with AI technology. However, instead of developing technology and creating solutions, the company verifies the performance of AI models created by various companies. Rather than simply verifying whether it works, a pool of about 30 AI verification experts is formed to determine the accuracy of AI's rulings and object recognition. Their goal is to lead the advancement of the AI ​​industry and suggest future research directions by supporting AI performance verification and quality improvement. I met with Kang Moon-jeong, CEO of the Korea Artificial Intelligence Verification Agency, and had a detailed discussion.

Korea Artificial Intelligence Verification Institute was established in October 2021 with the goal of building a trustworthy artificial intelligence ecosystem along with the rapid development of the artificial intelligence industry. Hasn't Korea's artificial intelligence technology recently developed to the point where it can be said to be the world's best? The industry itself is developing and changing very quickly, and artificial intelligence is closely entering our lives. But the question here is how much we can trust and use this advanced artificial intelligence. It has become important to verify artificial intelligence performance and build a trustworthy artificial intelligence utilization environment.

Our company has specialized in software and artificial intelligence performance verification. Recently, through 'solution technology inspection and consulting' and numerous artificial intelligence performance verifications in the National IT Industry Promotion Agency's AI voucher project, we have issued test reports as an internationally certified testing agency that complies with reliable international standards at the domestic and international level. We have laid the foundation for this.

Please introduce your main business

Our main business is to objectively verify artificial intelligence performance and issue test results. The classification accuracy and object recognition accuracy are tested and the results are provided. AI must produce the same results even if the environment changes and accurate results must be produced when data is input, but detailed verification is needed as algorithms and AI technology are still developing.

After receiving ISO 9001:2015 certification in the electrical testing (software) field in May last year, our company was recognized as an accredited testing agency by the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) under the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's National Agency for Technology and Standards in February this year. Acquired. KOLAS performs calibration, testing, inspection, and accreditation of reference material production organizations in accordance with the provisions of the National Standards Act and ISO/IEC Guide 17025, and test reports issued by the organization are accepted in 104 countries according to ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation). It is a system that recognizes that it has international public trust. Institutions that have obtained accreditation from KOLAS not only ensure efficient organizational operation and reliability of test results, but also have the status of a testing institution that meets international standards.

There are about 20 companies in Korea pursuing the same goals as our company.Among them, our strength is flexibility. The business we do is not static. I think it takes the form of responding appropriately to the flow of the times and changes in technology. That's why I think that always trying to change flexibly is a great strength.
